      Joao: The assembly of the ISS started in 1998 and actually we never quite stopped assemblying it. Every now and again, a new module is added or something is modified on the station. The latest module was the BEAM, an inflatable module using a new technology that might allow us to start using these type of modules:

      The first module, Zarya, was launched in 1998, and modules where added in missions until 2011. Recently a new module was added to test expanding space habitats ( BEAM) and a new multipurpose laboratory is planned in the future.

      From 1998 to 2011 – it was pieced together like very complex LEGO!
