• Question: whats the furthest someone has ever traveled into space?

      The further people have been in to the Moon

      Joao: The furthest a human has been from Earth, was during the Apollo missions. During those mission, 2 astronauts would land on the Moon. And 1 astronaut would stay on the spacecraft, orbiting the Moon. When this 1 astronaut was on the other side of the Moon he was even further from Earth than the other 2 astronauts.

      You will see what I mean. And something neat about that picture: I think it’s the only picture that managed to include every single human being, except for the photographer. How cool is that? 🙂

      During Apollo 13 when the spaceship orbited the far side of the moon it was 248,655 miles from Earth and this is still the record for the furthest humans have ever travelled!
