It’s a field that combines Mechanical Engineering with Electronic Engineering and Computer Science so instead of getting one person to build something, another person to wire it up and another person to program it, Mechatronic Engineers can do everything!

Iron Man was a Mechatronics Engineer.

Typically we work in Control Systems, Automation and Robotics but we’re pretty versatile engineers – can work in any industry!

You can program industrial machines, make Artificial Intelligence, do Aircraft and Spacecraft Controls (Avionics), make new Computer Hardware and Systems, program and design Control Systems (all the magic between a touchscreen control panel or a button and everything working automatically), make Exoskeletons both for fun robotic control and also for hospitals to help people walk again, make new Data Communications and Networks to connect the world better, do epic Signal Processing (all the ground stations for space dishes rely on this), make various Machines and Robots (anything from a washing machine to iron man!), program the Electricity and Water supply for towns and cities, make Mines work by themselves so they’re safer for workers, make Human Machine Interfaces and lots more!
