• Question: what will happen if the space station blows up and you cant get your suit on fast enough

      You would die- of explosion, boiling, freezing or suffocation.

      Hi oliver samways,

      Thankfully this is not something we have had to deal with but yes as Kirsty says it will not be good!

      The International Space Station (ISS) is travelling at 175000 mph and so are other satellites and space junk. If a piece were to hit the ISS that would mean big problems and could cause destruction of the Space Station.

      As the ISS is orbiting Earth if it were to break up then it would eventually fall back to Earth and burn up… and any unfortunate astronauts included 🙁
