Every astronaut can take 1kg of personal items so inside that bag they can pack whatever they want!

During training astronauts taste the spacefood (in ESA we have the best out of all the space agencies) and pick the ones they like best.

Also at the European Space Agency we have a unique bonus spacefood program where the astronaut can choose their favourite foods from their home country and a chef from their country will work with the spacefood lab to make them! Heston Blumenthal made British food like bacon sarnies and apple crumble for Tim 🙂
