      Hi 374tch48,

After 6 months in space astronauts bodies are weak and they can randomly faint โ€“ this is not a great feeling!

When the spacecraft comes back to Earth the astronauts experience high g-levels which is like a really intense rollercoaster ride. The astronauts feel 3 times as heavy and after a long time in space this is not very comfortable.

The Russian Soyuz is the space capsule that Tim Peake will be returning in next week and it comes back to Earth with a bump. After entering Earthโ€™s atmosphere and slowing down, parachutes then open and just before it hits the ground so-called โ€˜soft landing rocketsโ€™ fire.

Many people laugh at the fact they are called soft landing rockets because many astronauts still compare the touchdown on Earth as feeling like a car crash!
