• Question: If you had the oppurtunity to go to Mars what would you do and why?

      Hi 628tch48,

      I would love to go to Mars!

      The pictures from NASA’s Curiosity rover are amazing and getting the opportunity to see that in person would be mind-blowing.

      It would have to be a return mission though as I would miss my family and girlfriend too much!

      I’d totally go – I worked in the red sandy desert for years and loved it! It’s tough getting all the machines to work in an environment like that and protect them from thermal overload and dust damage but I love the challenge. On Mars I’d do the same, but in a spacesuit and play basketball in the lesser gravity – finally I could slam dunk!!

      It only takes about a year if you launch at the right time (you get this chance once every two years from Earth) and I’d totally be up for the adventure! [when the correct engineering designs are in place for the spacecraft]
