It does take quite a lot of training, and there are challenges, but it’s not harder then any other job.

All jobs need special skills and ways of thinking and engineering is no different- to be an engineer you need to be able to think logically, and break big problems into little problem which you can solve. But you get training how to do this, you don’t have to just know just it when you start. In my apprenticeship we spent 6 weeks just learning how to use tools like hammers and spanners and files, and then another 6 weeks looking at system diagrams- we literally started at the very beginning and worked up from there.

Becoming an engineer can be hard at University, but if you really want it, it’s possible for sure. After University, the fun starts while working in exciting environments!

      YAY!!! You said Engineer 😀

(media always says science even when they are talking about engineers)

It is but isn’t, because we train for it and more importantly gain a ton of real ife experience so engineering in the end is a mindset that everything has a solution. It isn’t knowing all the answers but knowing that we can figure them out.
